Very Long Summer Update

Wow! Summer's over and we never updated our blog! So here's our summer in a nutshell...
It started with a bang... Andy got a new job! Woo hoo! As a network engineer at Wolverine Trading in downtown Chicago (which means a train ride and not a new car- phew). We popped open some champagne we saved from Trentadue and celebrated!

Fourth of July we played bags at a friends place then rushed home to walk Parker to the lake to see the fireworks but just missed them. It was still a beautiful view!

Then played some flippy cup at Matt & Kate's to finish off the holiday right.

Then we took Parker on his first camping trip to the Indiana Dunes State Park. He seemed a little unsure of where we were and sniffed the whole site a million times over. At least there were no wildlife encounters- he might think the deers were just big dogs since he always thinks every dog is his friend. That would have been interesting! We also forgot how black he was till night arrived and we couldn't see him! We had a great time and he sure made himself comfortable laying in between us in the tent.

We made sure to make it to some neighborhood fests this year too. We saw The Wedding Band (hilarious Chicago band) with our softball team and ran into Andy's cousin Holly- Chicago's the biggest small city!

Then headed to California for a visit with the Muran family- camping first in Southern California for a night with the Barkers, then up North in Tahoe for a week with most of the family plus the twins for a night. It was amazing! Bedstemor & Bedstefar even surprised us with a visit. Collin loved eating the berries off the plants in the backyard with Bedstemor and going for a ride with Bedstefar at the Farmers Market.

Some camping along the coast with the WHOLE Muran fam.

After camping down south, we headed to Lake Tahoe where we went hiking, kayaking and finished off the trip with the twins plus baby Gavin and Lacey's new fiance, Dan (and their new puppy)!

Finally, the summer ended with some golfing with the Collado's for their annual Nation Open and some good times together with Andy's adorable nephew, Caleb. Apparently, he bonded with Parker while we were in California :). And ending with a hilarious video of Caleb trying not to smile for the camera.
